EU fragrance allergen — mandatory declaration above threshold. Oxidises to benzaldehyde and benzoic acid on air exposure. At high concentrations, local anaesthetic effect and skin irritation documented.

Clean beauty perception

Widely accepted in natural and organic clean beauty (COSMOS-approved). Fragrance allergen classification under EU regulations is often not communicated in clean-beauty brand marketing.
