Kyu Woo Nam
Former CEO of Kolmar Korea and Kolmar China who left one of the world's most powerful cosmetics manufacturing groups to build a single brand around 'skin farming' — patient, agricultural-philosophy skincare aimed at international export from launch.
"Skin must be cultivated like land — with consistency, balance and daily care, not chased like a trend."
— Kyu Woo Nam
Kyu Woo Nam is one of the most credentialled founders in K-beauty: over 30 years in Korean cosmetics, including CEO of Kolmar Korea and then CEO of Kolmar China — building manufacturing infrastructure across the world's largest beauty production country and overseeing product development for 300+ global and domestic brands.
Resigning from Kolmar to launch an independent brand was, by industry standards, a significant professional risk. His stated reason: to channel everything he had learned about global brand building into a single brand with a philosophy that the industry's major players had not prioritised — patient, farmer-like care for skin over time.
His personal origin story is embedded in the brand's name. He grew up in a small village in Korea, the son of farmers, and Thank You Farmer reflects his parents' values directly: integrity, steadiness, and respect for the slow work of cultivation. The brand's commercial design was equally unusual — Nam targeted global export from launch rather than establishing a domestic foothold first, leveraging the international relationships he had built at Kolmar.
Skin farming — treating skin with the same patience and consistency a farmer brings to land — is the brand's intellectual and emotional core.
Counter to the trend-driven K-beauty cycle: incremental results, no promises of instant transformation.
Build for the world from launch. Domestic-first is a sequence, not a strategy.

"Just as farmers care for the land with consistency and dedication, we believe healthy skin must be cultivated with time, balance, and daily care. This mindset comes from a deeply personal place. Our founder, the son of a farmer, grew up in a small village in Korea, inspired by the integrity and steadiness of his parents' way of life."
Hyejin Nam, Co-Founder, The Industry Beauty · 01 Oct 2025"Thank You Farmer is our way of honoring that gentle, intentional process — one that values authenticity over quick fixes. While much of the beauty industry chases instant results or trend-driven solutions, our philosophy is rooted in a long-term, respectful relationship with the skin."
