Jeannie Jarnot spent her early career in luxury hospitality and spa operations before her own health struggles led her to investigate the ingredients in the products she had been using professionally and personally for years.
She founded Beauty Heroes in 2014 as a monthly Discovery box dedicated to a single 'Hero' product per month — a deliberate counter to the maximalist beauty-box model — paired with a curated online store and a published ingredient standard considered one of the strictest in clean beauty (broader 'no' list than Sephora Clean and many peer programs).
She later opened a physical Discovery Store in Northern California and has positioned Beauty Heroes as much as an editorial / advocacy platform as a retailer, with ingredient transparency as the core promise.
