Beauty of Joseon and Salt & Stone Land at Sephora at Kohl's. The Clean Shelf Is Widening at Mass.
Buried beneath MAC and YSL in Kohl's spring announcement: two brands with proven Amazon and Sephora velocity moving into 850 mass-accessible doors. The retailer is following demand, not curating philosophy.
The Kohl's spring 2026 new arrivals announcement, published February 25 on Kohl's corporate newsroom, lists Beauty of Joseon and Salt & Stone as new additions to Sephora at Kohl's. MAC and YSL Beauty were the headline draws and got the press coverage. Beauty of Joseon and Salt & Stone were buried in the announcement and have received essentially no independent editorial attention since.
Both brands matter for different reasons. Beauty of Joseon's Sephora at Kohl's placement puts the brand's Relief Sun SPF — already the #1 SPF in multiple Sephora channels — into 850 Kohl's locations, adding distribution at a price point and customer demographic that Sephora's standalone doors do not reach. Salt & Stone is a Los Angeles-based, clean-formulated sunscreen, body care, and wellness brand that has been building quietly in the premium outdoor-active space since 2015; its Sephora at Kohl's entry signals that the retailer is actively filling clean body-care white space in the mass-accessible tier.
The framing matters. This isn't Kohl's curating clean — that read doesn't survive the source. Kohl's is filling Sephora shelf, and these two brands happen to be on it because they have proven Amazon and Sephora velocity. The retailer is following demand, not making a category statement. But the structural outcome is the same either way: two clean-positioned brands now sit in 850 mass-accessible doors, and the gap between Sephora's prestige clean shelf and Kohl's mass shelf has narrowed by another notch.
