Gonzalez grew up alongside his cousin Joe Cloyes in his family's third-generation skincare manufacturing business in California.

He co-founded Youth to the People in 2015, leading creative and brand. The Superfood Cleanser, Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream, and Triple Peptide + Cactus Oasis Serum became Sephora category heroes ahead of the L'Oréal acquisition in 2021.
