Caroline Hirons
The UK's most influential independent skincare voice — third-generation skincare consultant, blogger since 2010, author of bestseller Skincare — who launched the Skin Rocks app and skincare line out of more than a decade of refusing to be quiet about industry marketing claims.
"I started a blog because I was tired of being lied to in the back room."
— Caroline Hirons
Caroline Hirons grew up in a third-generation skincare family in the UK and built a long behind-the-counter and brand-consulting career before launching the Caroline Hirons blog in 2010. Her plain-spoken, often blunt critiques of industry marketing turned the blog into one of the most-trusted independent skincare voices in the English-speaking world, and her book Skincare became an instant bestseller.
She launched the Skin Rocks app in 2021 — a personalized recommendation engine across thousands of products from any brand — and followed in 2022 with the Skin Rocks skincare line, after a noted 'I have been planning this since 2013' development period.
The brand is built on a deliberately tight range, accessible price points and Hirons's editorial credibility. She continues to write, podcast (The Glass Edit), and run consulting work in parallel.
Editorial credibility before product — the audience is the asset.
Tight range, accessible pricing — the opposite of the launch-everything playbook.
