Mechanism of action
Genistein inhibits tyrosinase via competitive binding and reduces UV-induced melanogenesis stimulation by blocking tyrosine kinase-mediated melanocyte activation pathways. Isoflavones bind ER-beta in fibroblasts, potentially upregulating collagen and hyaluronic acid synthesis. Antioxidant activity via phenolic electron donation.
